HP Smart app which is provided by HP for their wireless printers is a beautiful app that lets you print without hassle from anywhere. The app is scalable, flexible and simple to use. HP Smart is available for desktops, laptops and mobile phones as well. It supports all the latest versions of Windows 10, Mac OS and Android OS for mobiles.

HP Smart app comes with the Print Anywhere feature. It is a function that lets you print through Windows, macOS or Android and can issue print or scan orders even when you are away from your printer or scanner. The Print Anywhere feature allows you to print either online or offline.

In this article, we will show you how to install and setup the HP Smart App on various OSs.

Installation of HP Smart app

1. Firstly, you need to download the HP Smart app from the official HP download center at 123.hp.com.
2. From the app, select your printer and then select Printer Settings to navigate to the settings screen.
3. Not all printers support the Print Anywhere feature. If your printer supports this feature, then it should display in this new window.

Adding the printer to the app

1. Make sure that your device is connected with the computer over the same wireless network.
2. Continue with the addition of the printer to the HP Smart app.
3. If your printer is displaying in the list, then continue. Otherwise, you need to manually add your printer to the list of printers.
4. If you are using HP Smart for the first time, click on Set Up. Tap the printer and follow the on-screen instructions to successfully add the printer to the app.
5. If the printer does not display, then select the Plus sign to continue adding the printer manually to your HP Smart app.

Enable the Print Anywhere feature

If your printer supports Print Anywhere, then you should be able to enable the option by following this section.

For Android OS

1. From the home screen of the HP Smart app, select your printer.
2. From the new window, tap on Print Anywhere. If the option is disabled, then your printer does not support this feature.
3. You need to sign in or register for a new account with HP.
4. Tap Enable to allow your printer to use the Print Anywhere feature.

If you follow the above steps correctly, then Print Anywhere will be enabled and start working for your printer.

For Windows 10 and macOS

1. Ensure proper wireless connectivity between the computer and your printer.
2. Open the HP Smart app, and select Print Settings.
3. Go to the Print Anywhere tab and sign in to your account.
4. Either follow the steps to create a new HP account, or you may log in with your existing account credentials.
5. From the final screen, select Enable.
6. Now return to the printing screen and verify whether the Print Anywhere feature is enabled.

Your printer should now be able to use Print Anywhere from Windows 10 or macOS. With this feature turned on in the HP Smart app, you will be able to remotely issues print orders to your printer.
