How to set up HP OfficeJet 250 Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Color Printer : The HP OfficeJet 250 Wireless Inkjet printer is focused on making mobile printing easier and more portable for consumers. You may use this printer on-the-go, thanks to its small form-factor, light-weight feature, availability of an automatic document feeder and its economical ink consumption.
This printer comes with a powerful charger that can charge your printer to full capacity within one-and-half hours. This guide will help you in installing the printer and how to configure the printer with your computer.
Step 1: Unboxing the printer and accessories
- Firstly, remove the tapes from the package cover to unbox the package of the printer.
- Take out the printer very slowly and carefully. Take out the power cord and the power adapter. Now, start removing the tapes on the printer’s body.
- Open the top cover of the printer and take out all the tapes that seal it.
- Open the cartridge door and remove the tapes inside it.
- Once completed, re-assemble all the parts back into their position to complete the unboxing. Make sure not to dispose of the printer’s packing box to support during the warranty period.
- Remember to recycle the removed tapes to save the environment and keep it clean.
Be extremely careful when dissembling the HP OfficeJet 250 Wireless Inkjet printer parts and removing the tapes and packaging components from the printer. There are sensitive components that can get easily damaged if mishandled by you.
Step 2: Insert the printer battery
Before removing the printer battery, please make sure that your printer is disconnected from the electrical outlet.
- You will be able to see the battery cover latch. Push it to the right, then pull the battery cover towards you to eject the battery from the printer.
- Remove the cover from the new battery.
- Slide the battery to fit into the slot until it clicks into position.
- Now place the battery cover back to its place.
Step 3: Switch on the printer and loading fresh paper
- Take out the power cord and connect your HP OfficeJet 250 Wireless Inkjet printer to the power supply using the power cord.
- Switch on the printer and press the top of the control panel to view it.

Step 4: Install the print cartridges
- Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door.
- The cartridge carriage will move out to allow you to install the new cartridge in the printer. Wait until the movement stops.
- Remove the plastic covering from the ink cartridge.
- Insert the ink cartridge in the cartridge slot.
- Pinch to close the latch of the cartridge holder.
- Close the ink cartridge access door.
- The printer will automatically issue a print alignment job to align the new cartridges. This is important for obtaining the best print quality from your printer.
Remember and be careful- touch only the black part or the plastic area of the cartridge. The other areas are sensitive to touch and may damage your cartridge. Never touch the copper areas or the ink nozzle.
Your hardware is now set up so that you can install the printing software for your HP OfficeJet 250 Wireless Inkjet printer.
Step 5: Downloading and installing printer driver and software
- Open your web browser and visit the URL: http://123.hp.com/OJ250
- This page will lead you to HP Smart download Click on the button Install HP Smart to download and install the software.
- Once the download is complete, go to your downloads folder and double-click on the installer to begin installing HP Smart on your computer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install HP Smart. After the installation completes, click Set up a New Printer to add your HP OfficeJet 250 Wireless Inkjet printer in the printer.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to finish configuring your printer using HP Smart.
