Insta Ink requires an internet connection for your printer. HP clarifies that they regularly monitor your ink levels, so they can realize when to send you more ink cartridges for printing. However, as portrayed in their Terms of Service, the other explanation behind this is to distantly disable your ink cartridges if you unsubscribe or if there are any issues with your payment process.
How to reset your printer after the cancellation of HP Insta Ink service:
After cancellation of HP Insta Ink services, it is highly recommended to reset your printer and replace the Insta Ink cartridges with fresh, standard HP print cartridges. Given below are the steps to reset your printer:
- Open the Printer system tray.
- Remove the ink cartridges one by one and then perform a hard reset on the printer. The steps to do a hard-reset are mentioned below.
- By keeping the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and also disconnect the power cord from the main power outlet on the wall.
- If there are any USB cables connected to the printer, remove them.
- Wait for a few minutes, and press and keep holding the power button on your printer for approximately 30 seconds to remove any static charge from the printer.
- Now reconnect the power cable to the power outlet without any surge protection or an extension cord.
- Start up the printer and wait till the printer completes its warm-up process.
- Now insert both the ink cartridges and issue a print job. It should work properly now.
