How to Install HP DeskJet 2130 All-in-One Printer

HP DeskJet 2130 is an All-in-One printer that comes with amazing printing features and specifications at an affordable price range. In this guide, we will show you how to install HP DeskJet 2130 All-in-One printer in simple steps.

Unpacking the printer from the box

Firstly, you need to remove the printer from the box, and then remove all the stickers and tapes from the printer.

  1. Unpack the printer package.
  2. Take out the printer from the box.
  3. Remove all the tapes and stickers that are covering the printer for protection.
  4. Lower the output tray, with your hands, reach inside the printer and then grasp the handle and lower the ink cartridge access door to open it.
  5. Remove all the stickers, tapes and packaging materials from inside of the printer.
  6. Close the ink cartridge access door.
  7. Ensure that you have removed all the hardware and peripherals from inside the printing box before throwing it or recycling the box and packaging materials.

Connect the printer to power supply and turn it on

  1. Take out the power cord and connect it to the rear end of the printer. Plug in the other end of the power cord to an electrical outlet.
  2. Once the power connection is established, press the Power button to turn on the printer.

Install the ink cartridges

  1. Grasp the handle of the printer and lower the ink cartridge access door to open the door. The carriage will move to the centre of the printer.
  2. Wait until the printer turns idle and silent before you proceed further.
  3. Take out one of the ink cartridges from the package. Be careful to only touch the plack plastic on the ink cartridge.
  4. Remove the plastic tape that is covering the mouth of the cartridge.
  5. Make sure you hold the sides of the cartridge in such a way that the nozzle is pointing towards the printer. Insert the cartridge into its correct slot.
  6. Slide in the cartridge at a particular angle and then push it up a little until it clicks in to its position. The cartridge is now installed into the printer.
  7. Repeat the steps from 1 to 6 for the second ink cartridge.
  8. Once the second ink cartridge is installed, close the ink cartridge access door.

Load paper into the input tray

  1. Raise the input tray by lifting it up.
  2. If there is any paper that is different from the type of paper that you want to load, remove the paper and slide in the new set of paper with the guide pushed towards its extreme left.
  3. Make sure that you load supported types of paper such as US Letter, A4 or legal sized papers for example.
  4. Now slide the guide to the right until it rests exactly at the edge of the paper.
  5. This will ensure that the alignment of the printing process is correct and accurate.
  6. Now lower the output tray and pull out the extender from the output tray.

Align the ink cartridges

  1. Once you have loaded the paper, the printer will automatically print an alignment page.
  2. Lift the lid of the scanner.
  3. Place the alignment page with the printed side downwards on the scanning glass, and then fix the alignment by following the engraved guides around the glass.
  4. Close the lid of the scanner.
  5. Press Start Copy Black button or Start Copy Color butto on the control panel of the printer.
  6. The printer will now align the ink cartridges.
