Yahoo Mail – Common problems and solutions

Yahoo Mail – Common problems and solutions or troubleshooting : Over the past decades, Yahoo Mail has emerged to be one of the finest, feature-rich email services on the Web. The diversity in their service offerings can be overwhelming for a few and may also cause issues due to the application’s constraints on the user’s device. Here are a few of the common problems with Yahoo Mail and solutions or troubleshooting procedure to fix the challenges.

“Can’t send or receive emails” on Yahoo Mail

“Can’t send or receive emails” on Yahoo Mail

This is a quite common problem with Yahoo Mail. To fix it, disconnect from the internet network and restart your router or broadband device. Restart your computer. Now, open your web browser and clear all history, cache, and cookies from the browser. Reconnect to the wired or wireless network. Now try signing in again and sending the email. Ask your receiver to verify whether he or she has received the email.

Cannot access Yahoo Mail from Mozilla Firefox

If you are unable to access Yahoo Mail from Mozilla Firefox, try the following steps:

Cannot access Yahoo Mail from Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open your web browser and clear all the cookies and cache.
  2. Close your browser and re-open it.
  3. Enable your browser cookies.
  4. Log in to Yahoo Mail with your username and password.
  5. If this does not work, try switching to a different web browser such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

The image embedded in an email is not loading in Yahoo Mail

Images in email services can be displayed by two methods- one is by embedding the image in the email and the other way is by adding the image as an attachment. Embedded images in an email are basically externally called images that are not served through Yahoo Mail. They are hosted on a different website, which may be on a different server. If the image is not available on their server, then it will not display on your email as well because the original file is missing from their server.

Hence, it will be better if you attach the image as a file in the email.

Another reason for an image not loading in the email maybe because of an incorrect or unsupported file format of the image. Make sure that you upload images with standard formats such as JPEG, PNG, or TIFF.

Unable to load and read PDF files on Yahoo Mail

Reading PDF files on a website requires all the latest updates that are available for your web browser. If you are unable to read PDF files on Yahoo Mail, run the browser update services and update your browser to its latest version. Restart the web browser after the update is complete for the changes to take effect.

If any firewall protection or anti-virus services are blocking you from viewing or downloading the PDF file, disable them if you think the file is safe to view or download.

Buttons are missing on Yahoo Mail

If you are unable to find certain buttons on Yahoo Mail, it may be a local browser error. Try to clear cache and cookies and any offline data that the browser may have. Restart the browser, update it to its latest version and try again.

Disable the browser enhancements, too. You may follow this article to guide you in disabling browser enhancements on several popular browsers: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/disable-browser-enhancements-sln3016.html

Email message list is not loading

If your email message list is not loading completely, or not loading at all, try to clear your browser’s cache and cookies. Make sure that JavaScript is enabled on your web browser and reset your browser to its default settings.

Now, restart the browser and check again. This is generally your browser’s issue and may have nothing to do with Yahoo Mail. If the aforesaid steps do not work, retry, and restart the computer. Then check if the email message list is loading.

Issues with login redirection

Many a times, users get automatically redirected from the Yahoo login page to the AT&T login page. If you have an AT&T account, try logging in using your AT&T username and password. Otherwise, log in from this link: https://currently.att.yahoo.com/

Recently began having a problem with Yahoo mailing lists where their program deletes my own contact info from a list I created in which I included my own email in order to receive and confirm the information being sent to numerous addresses. Further, I can go in and add another email address to a list but I am unable to add my own email to the list as the system blocks this from being saved. What could they possible be thinking?

  2. An issue what I encountered recently (this year) is that mails from certain email addresses end up in my spam box although they are in my trusted contacts list. Even when I write to them and they reply…it goes always to the spam folder. One was from a normal (small) company and the other was from a car insurance company. Very embarrassing because I missed their invoice.
